It's all just a part of reality, and I think you're classifying all gamers into a little niche that not all of them belong in. I'm a girl gamer, but I don't go to LAN parties, hate love, hate reality, and refuse to work. Sometimes I do get stuck in my own little bubble and space out and play video games, but I'm a straight A sophomore in high school who works 5 days a week and still has time for her friends. Being a gamer doesn't classify you as some little self-quarantined nerd who refuses to accept reality as we know it. Not ALL gamers are nutzo. And honestly, I've never met one who fits all of the criterion you listed.
All ice hockey players, from the minor level upwards including college and university, are required to wear a face mask on their helmets. Masks can be purchased as part of the helmet or separately. There are three kinds of masks wire cage, face shield and combination. There are also neck protectors on the market to give you added protection. For safety obviously.
We have hard wired as well but they still have batteries that need to be changed. So you need to change them twice a year. Hard wired detectors are still better as they reduce your insurance rates and often as ours have a direct connection to the local fire department.
