1985 Buick (front wheel drive) Park Avenue Air ride suspension?

has anyone ever worked on the rear suspension on this car or does any one know where i can find the scematics of this system for trouble shooting it has a self leveling feature with air bags/shocks that does not work

Answer:

shop manualor go to dealer//parts dept.they can show you the partsschematic on the computer and know what parts usually r needed.on something that old u may not be able to get parts easily
The air system is simple on this car. There is a compressor in the front in the engine compartment. There are air lines from the compressor to shocks. The self leveling valve will adjust by the weight placed in the back end of the car, either passengers in the rear seat or stuff placed in the trunk. On the rear control arm, there should be a small rod going from the control arm up to the leveling assembly. Make sure it's not broken. They were usually made of cheap plastic. Also look at the activating arm on the valve and make sure it hasn't broken off from rust. Check all the wire connections and look to see if the car has a relay on the fuse panel or on a separate panel somewhere under the dash.
