Question:

1998 Honda passport 4wd front-right axle help.help please?

I have never done or seen how to take it off. I need to take it off from the car to change the cv-boot. I tried all day to remove it, but I couldn‘t. Anyway to help me remove it? Help me please, thank you all in advance

Answer:

you have to have experience to perform this repair/cant just do it with out the tools and knowledge of the whole operation/sorry but it needs to go to the shop/if it breaks while driving your in a world of sitt/sorry
Stay with the stock tire sizes. You will only degrade the bike's handling if you change sizes. There is no benefit to using wider tires on your bike.
Nope nope nope. Bigger is not better and calling it an upgrade is just stupid. You can go to a softer compound for more grip but you are not smarter than the engineers who designed the bike. Your proposal will actually lessen traction and slow the handling. Nope nope nope don't do it.
does the inner joint come out of the tranny
First of all it does not pay to replace the boot. Buy a complete axle from Advance Auto. Usually you need to pop the lower ball joint, taking the tie rod end loose from the steering knuckle helps. Take the caliper off and you may need to take the hose loose from the strut so you get more movement to pull the axle out of the wheel bearing/hub. Take the axle nut off and pull the joint out of the bearing. To get the inner spider joint out of the tranny either a large pry bar works or else a long punch and a 2 lb. hammer is the ticket.
