hi guys ! the motor blew up in my blazer so my daughter's boyfriend put another one in and by accident he broke the end on the cruise control cable at the throttle body ! what I like to know is , can I use a zip tie on the end until I get a chance to change the cable ? also can you change the end or do you have to change the whole cable ? another thing is how do you change the cable on a 4.3 ? thanks guys !
I would not mess with it. Get the guy that broke the cable to fix it for you. Seems that he is quite capable.
Does the new engine work? Be glad if it does as you did not hire a professional mechanic. If he can't replace the cable, have him pay for it. If you didn't pay him, drive it without cruise control. You can't have your cake and eat it, too.
You can use a zip tie, as long as it holds it on there. No you cant just replace the end. Only way to fix it is replacing the whole cable.
You can always drive without cruise control like the cave men did.
