Dear Yahoo Answers,My brother was being a jerk and enabled parental controls on our cable box to block channels at a certain time. It's a scientific america explorer 8420hd. How can I disable this if I do not know the 4 digit pin?
usually to ENABLE parental control on an IQ box u have to enter a pin code. they should come with a default pin(usually 1234) and to change that if it's never been changed, u have to enter a new one then confirm it. what ever pin was in it would not be able to be changed without the confirmation of a new one. normally, if u put the wrong one in 3 times , it will shut down for a period of time. your question is only 2 hours old so try it later and see what happens. once again, if your pin had never been changed then it should still be operating on the default pin which will be in your manual. if someone has changed it, then they have gone through the above mentioned process.
