Question:

1st year Chemistry lab help please!?

I had a lab yesterday that involved dumping some copper chloride in water, observing the temp before stirring and stirthen it says add a piece of aluminum that was in a loose ball shape WITHOUT STIRRINGcan someone please explain what happens when these things are done? i had lab partners that just dumped everything together and stirred everything the whole time, they finished the lab in about 5 mins with the thermometer out of the beaker half of the time so i don't know what went on and neither did they (not surprisingly)

i own a 2004 corvette and my girlfriend bought a 06 g35 coupe and we take it to Vegas from San Diego and it drives nice and has plenty of powerthe only draw back is my corvette gets better gas mileage the rpm indicator shows it at 3200 rpm at 75 miles per hourit needs a better overdrive gear to get better gas mileage otherwise it can carry 3 suit cases and my golf clubs, my vette will carry 3 suit cases but not my clubshahahahawe take her carwe averaged about 25 miles per gallon but we where going 80my vette averages about 28 mpgonly 2000 rpm at 80 mphthis automobile is a better vehicle than any other coupe made including BMW and merc/Benz.
I own oneBought it new in '03 with 26 miles on itThey are definitly not pieces of crap It takes premium gas (not a big deal), and engine sound is intoxicatingThe only problem I have had with it was the power windows going out twiceIt's still under warranty, so I didn't have to pay a dimeThe navigation system is way overrated, and way too expensiveYou don't need it, so don't let them talk you into it You can't rotate the tires since the front and rears are different sizes, and the Brembo brakes are lifesaversThe michelin tires they sell with the car only last about 11,000 miles, so I recommend the Continental Sport TracksThe brembos put off alot of brake dust, so you'll have to wash your rims alotI Upgraded the brake rotors and pads, so I don't have that problem anymoreUnless you have a warranty, don't have it serviced at an Infiniti dealership, they will charge you out the , and the free coffee and doughnuts they offer don't make up for itIt's a common enough engine nowadays that mechanics know what they're dealing withI take mine to Nissan for maintenance, and have been more than pleasedIf you buy one, tell them to give you all the info on the bells and whistlesThere was stuff about the car I didn't know well after a year that I owned it(remote windows, remote locking gas door, etc.) I still get looks from it, and i'll own it until it diesA good used one with low mileage should run you around $24-28 large.

My guess is that aluminum is a reactive enough metal that it would ionize in water and reduce the copper to the elemental stateSo I guess you would see a copper precipitate after a while.
