Question:

2000 Malibu shaky front passenger wheel?

Okay, so yes I do need an alignment, but that is not what is causing my wheel to shake. My steering wheel is not shaking. I can feel the wheel moving while I‘m driving and yet the lugs are screwed snugly against the wheel. I took the wheel off to look for damage of any sort and did not see a thing. Does anybody have any ideas that could help me?

Answer:

It could be a variety of things. A bad tire or bent rim will make your wheel 'shaky'. Try just a simple rotation by moving the front wheel to the back. If nothing changes - next area to look at is the ball joint. A bad ball-joint is not easy to identify when the car is just sitting on jacks. Same with a tie-rod end. Make sure those components are functioning properly. If all those things are in good shape - then you truly do have a mystery on your hands.
