I have a 2007 camry le 4cyl and a very bad passenger side axle. my car wouldn‘t pass inspection and i have to get this problem fix. i went to toyota and they said that since the axle has been bad for a while (6 months or more); it could have messed up other parts. he advised me to call it in to the insurance and pay my deductible. i dont wanna do dat.what do you advise?i was going to find the part online and go to my home mechanic to have it put on.
if you don,t want to do that then just change the axle and hope for the best.

Have it looked at by your home mechanic and see if he will allow you to try to find an axle at a discounted price. Go for the entire shaft and not a half shaft. It's a 2007 so don't cut corners. I doubt anything severe has happened unless the reason why it went bad in the first place was from a direct hit to the wheel and suspension. The axles are not expensive nor is the replacement if you have a reputable mechanic. 95 Camry Owner
