my airbag lite came on after slamming on brakes to avoid an accident. Car has 30k miles on it .any ideas?
That is a very common sign that your alternator is probably going bad. You can pull it off and have it checked at most part stores to see if it is charging enough voltage. If the alt stops charging all together the car will eventully stop running when the battery runs out of juise.
more than likely your alternator is bad, go to autozone and have them give you a free charging system check and you will find out for sure if it's your alternator or battery.
when this lite comes on, it means that the charging system has failed. Check the belt 1st for loosness, if not then have your alternator checked for output. Go to any auto zone parts store and they will check it for free. You can leve the alternator in the car for this to be done. good luck
Check the glove compartment. They usually contain an owners manual.
