I‘m most likely going to be buying a 66 mustang coupe, it has a 200ci 6 cylinder engine with a 3 speed transmission. I know the engine‘s good, I may or may not change it out to a v8 tho. I‘ve never had a 3 speed before, will it be alright or should I change it out to a 4 or 5 speed?
if the engine is mounted transversely the oil will slide around on turns. put some more oil in it and you should be fine. there is the possibility one of the electrical connections is loose or there is a wiring problem. this requires inspecting all the wires going to and from the sensor and the light.
sounds like oil is moving away from sensoror if cud b bad wire.lik the insulation is worn and wen u take a hard turn it brushes against a ground or even comes unplugged a littleu can get a maual oil pressure gauge for under 20 bucks to see if its really a engine problem but it doesnt sound lik it is
Change your oil. When oil gets old it wears out and it gets to thin and the engine will have a harder time keeping oil PSI. You cant change the oil to often, so being so close to your next oil change I would just change it, I bet the light stays off after that.
I had a 75 f-100 with a 4.9l straight 6 with a 3 speed, It was good. The only thing is that if the gears are low, then once you hit 3rd gear your RPM's are going to be redlined and you'll be going 55-60, if your gunna swap a v-8, I depending on how big and what your gunna do with it, I would put a 5 speed.
3 speed transmission will be alright i know people who race with 4 speed transmissions problem with switching it out is you may need a new engine to go along with it
