I recently acquired a transmission from a 98 c2500 with a 5.7 I have a 96 c2500 with a 5.7 will this tranny fit in my truck with Mabye simple modifications I am a prof mechanic so it is do able but will it work???
If the PCM is similar and the transmissions are the same it should definitely work. Make sure they are both 4L80E transmissions. If they didn't change anything on them it should fit like a glove. Look at both Transmission and compare them as well. Usually the 4L80E has a heavier tail housing shaft then the 4L60E. Another thing to know that Gear Ratios can be different and can cause Transmission shift issues with the wrong PCM.
