When the transmission gets warm all the gears turn into drive and reverse goes forward a foot then stops. But when its cold from sitting over night it goes in reverse. But overdrive takes about 2000rpms just to get moving

One method would be to smith steel bars into Steel Platebodies, then High Alch them. If memory serves that's 140g per bar right there. (1.2k per high-alched platebody) steel plate is also the most cost efficient method of levelling Smithing due to the low coal requirement/amount of Iron in the world
sounds like a dirty transmission filter ! try changing the fluid and filter !
if ur tranny smells burnt exchange the fluid first then rebuild it or count of certainty see how plenty fluid u have in that situation my windstar used to try this yet on mine i had cracked the case so i had to top off it with fliud everydai if i drove it only exchange ur tranny oil and clear out and gasket and each situation ought to pass appropriate and positioned severe milage penzoil tranny fluid mercon solid success on it
Change the transmission fluid first and put some lucas oil stop slip in along with a new transmission filter if it has one. If that doesn't work you have a transmission on the verge of failure and you should start saving up for a transmission rebuild or replacement. Also make sure you clean the transmission fluid pan with brake cleaner along with the magnet in it as well as possible and wipe off any excess brake clean. Best of Luck.
