Question:

A dilemma for you. What would you do?

Ok here are the rules. You can only use the available information, no making up details not given. Here's the set-up.You are in the New York Public Library in the Rare Books section which contains, among other things, a Gutenberg Bible and a handwritten copy of the Constitution written by Thomas Jefferson. All of the books in this section are priceless and largely irreplaceable. Hanging on the wall is a fire hose. You are in the section when a fire breaks out. If you use the fire hose, you will most likely destroy the books with water damage, but if you do nothing, the books will be burned to ash in minutes. What do you do?

Answer:

Well, it doesn't have to be from a goth clothing brand for an article to be considered goth, if it was I would very much be in debt. I'm willing to shop just about everywhere and if I find something that very much catches my eye, I'll get it. At home though I keep a box full of interesting buttons, black lace, chains ect that if I want to customize things more to my liking I can. When I go shopping I initially look for something I like, I just happen to gravitate toward certain prints, designs and colours just because I like them. After I find something I also look at it and think, What could I do to this to make me like it even more?, which could be changing the buttons adding a lace trim, safety pins and chains ect. Also, all your clothes don't have to be Goth on their own. Try and compile a good collection of interesting accessories to pile on to your more plain outfits. Personally I have a whole lot of necklaces, wrist cuffs, and a few clip on pant chains. Gloves are a nice touch and so are fun little hair bows, I also suggest investing in a pair of stompy boots, a pair of mary-jane like shoes and an interesting but versatile handbag. My advice is, no matter how amazing a gothy outfit may look, if the wearer doesn't look comfortableit ends up looking like a costume. Also, remember that music is a big key in the goth subculture and a good wardrobe builds up over time. Good luck ;)
