Okay, so my room gets really hot at night and I wanna open the window but there's an alarm on it and if I open it at night, the alarm will go off and wake my parents up, if we keep the alarm off and open it, then someone can come in my house cause the alarm will be off. We have ADT alarm system and the one on the window is like a white sensor with like a small metal cylinder, maybe a magnet? I heard u can put a magnet on the sensor and it won't go off. Does this work? Can you give me other ways to bypass the system? Thanks in advance.

Placing a plastic bag over a smoke detector will, in fact, defeat its purpose and you will, in fact, die when there is smoke and the alarm doesn't go off. It would be safer to just have your roommate expelled for safety violations.
