after installing my bathtub do i use 1/4 in. or 1/2 in. cement board for surrounding before ceramic tiling?
use 1/2 it will make it stronger, if someone bumps it
1/2 will hold up better to the weight of the tile and someone banging into it.
You can use either/or. It doesn't make any difference when installing tile
