if you have air ride/air bags on a truck and you want to haul something on a trailer, will it be bad for the bags, can it make them blow or what can go wrong, is it even bad at all?
air bags are plenty strong enough for towing, If you have the instructions there may be some air pressure changes that may help, They use air bags a lot on bigger 18 wheelers so I know for a fact they will work fine, since I doubt your hooking up 40 tons of cargo. In fact there are companies that make an air bag helper for towing, and air shocks have long been used for heavy loads.
OEM airbags designed to automatically level a truck or SUV will inflate and deflate as needed and cannot exceed their maximum pressure. There are aftermarket air bag systems available to assist trucks when towing by adding more suspension points and stiffening the suspensions As long as the airbags are OEM, make sure to stay within the stated tow capacities of the truck. If they are aftermarket, follow the instructions for using the bags in conjunction with towing.
