Question:

aloe vera plant, I need some help?

I bought a aloe vera plant the only one left in the store. This plant has 8 leaves on it and all are drooping down. The leaves that are on there feel full when I slightly squeeze them. The root where all the leaves are coming from is seperating from the dirt. The soil does seem very dry. While I was unwrapping the plant when i got home one of the leaves had been broken off.How would I properly replant this leave to make a new plant? How do I make this into a healthy plant?Any information suggestions will be greatly appreciated

Answer:

Aloes don't need too much water but perhaps the plant is potbound and needs a bigger pot? You can try to propagate the plant by placing a healthy leaf into the soil directly. Many succulents reproduce this way.
Sounds like it was overwatered Just let it sit in the sun for a while and recover. Resist the urge to water it too much.
in a larger pot, fill with a mix of potting soil vermiculite and sand from your gardening center, in equal amounts. wet down, let drain, until the upper soil is just sticking together. make a hole for your plants rootball and putting it in position, backfill with the potting mix you just removed. lightly. cover the exposed roots.
