Question:

AMD Bulldozer or Intel i7 for video editing?

I'm currently planning on getting a new PC and I was gonna go with an Intel i7 processor, but then I found out about AMD (not that I didn't know it existed, but I didn't know too many details either), so now that I searched a bit, a lot of people have said that the AMD Bulldozer is good specifically for video editing so I'm pretty confused right now, I haven't had any experience with AMD whatsoever, so which one should I go with?

Answer:

yes u need bulldozer for video editing.for video editing, more cores are needed, which the bulldozers have(fx 8150 has 8 cores). another advantage is that they are priced less than intel cpu. for video editing get fx 8120 or fx 8150 don't get intel coz' they are pricey than amd and wont give u much performance in video editing than amd. but if need the pc for gaming always get intel cpu though Ken mentioned the i7 2600k outperformes the fx 8150, fx 8150 has best bang for the buck
DO NOT get a bulldozer. I bought one and had to write in a thing into my bios so it wouldn't blue screen. In the process I practically lost everything on my hard drive. I don't know anything about an i7 Intel, but you don't want a bulldozer.
You do get more bang for your buck with AMD but they are not poor but poorer quality then Intels, Intels have shown to be a realiable and more efficient processor even some of its lower clocked cpus betting some of AMDS with a higher clockspeed. There is a reason why Apple went with Intel and not AMD, I would go with Intel if I had the money
