I don't think they will for a distance like that but you should check into studded snow tires!
It's a question of ratios. L 1/50 (the large hose can flood one park in 50 minutes) S 1/75 (the small hose can flood one park in 75 minutes) Just do the math. You need to add the work together to find out how quickly they can do the job together. - L + S 1/50 + 1/75 .? (You should know how to add fractions, and then reduce)
If the chains are tight on the tires, that will minimize the wear. I wouldn't waste the time, myself .
the tinny amount of damage you may get in this situation far out weights the danger you put yourself in when you get out of the vehicle to put them on and take them off all the time your exposed when working on your car, if another car can not see you or is out of control and hits you into your car that will be much more damage then the little bit from your tire. I know some one who got killed changing a tire on the side of the road now if suddenly the pavement is clear for what looks to be a decent amount you would want to take them off, but it shouldn't be as often as you stated, you can also get tire cables that work just as well and will do far less damage to your tires and the road.
