The best method would be to wash the shield under running water and vary the force of the water to remove the rough particles from the surface, then use a very smooth cotton cloth to dry the surface of water and then wipe with a leathery kinda cloth which they use specially for windshields on cars, it works good on even regular eyeglasses too leaving them spotless which helps the visibility tremendously. Do not use any light alcohol or ammonia based liquids as u might dull the shield our or ruin any film or coating that is applied to it.
