Ride a Buell Firebolt and I‘m sitting on Dunlop Q3‘s right now front and back and I love em. But I‘m going through them every 5 months, Granted it is an everyday driver. So any suggestions on tires that are CHEAP but will last me a while? I would LOVE all the grip in the world but let‘s face it, I need something that‘s gonna last on my daily drive.
Softer tires are sport tires, less soft tires are touring tires. I ride a tourer. My previous bike had Bridgestone Battlaxes and I was happy with them. They were a compromise, they lasted about 10k miles. Everyone told me Metzler Marathons were a good long-lasting tire. My new bike came with Metzlers, and at first I thought they felt a little ambiguous. There were times I didn't feel solidly connected to the road. They didn't slide or anything, it was just how they felt! But that feeling has gone away. Maybe I've just gotten used to it. Maybe it was just the bike itself. Now I have 10k miles on these tires and they look almost new! Surprising. I think it depends on how you ride. If you like to corner hard you want stickier tires. There must be websites that compare the mileage people get on different models of tires.
Only you can make that choice between durability and road grip, I'm not spending your money, I can't make the choice for you. As fast as you are going threw the Dunlop Q3's a wrong choice can't hurt for long!
