Question:

are abec 5 good bearings?

im a begginer in skateboarding so i wanted to know if abec 5 bearings were good bearings and if not wich ones should i get tahnk u!!!

Answer:

The abec number is basicaly meaningless for skates and boards. Any abec number can be great or junk depending on the maker. Most non-abec bearings are absolute junk but some of the best companies (Zero Drag, Twin Cam, Bones) specificaly design their best bearings to violate the abec specs to make them better. Getting any of them from a reasonable skate/board company will be good. The main differences in most bearings is the lubricant (grease is slower at first but lasts forever, oil is fast but you need to reoil them more frequently, gels are in between). In some cases the lubricant makes a difference in rust resistance if you hit wet areas. Twin Cam has been known for very high rust resistance and Bones for low rust resistance.
Abec 5's are a good happy medium
The type of the ABEC would not confirm how briskly you flow, basically how long the wheel retains spinning once you provide up pushing. somewhat, it relies upon on the skater. even inspite of the undeniable fact that, in case you sense as while you're having to paintings extra sturdy, you have got tightened the nut too lots. ONe solid thank you to decide the terrific suited tightness is as quickly as you have tightened the nut, make optimistic the wheel isn't wobbly, then spin the wheel and count type 10 seconds. After ten seconds the wheel could nevertheless be rotating (slowing down, yet nevertheless moving). If the wheel would not spin for no less than 10 seconds, then loosen the nut in user-friendly terms slightly then attempt returned.
