i think they are heavy metal but i want to be sure
I just bought the new Suspyre album on itunes, which I've been waiting months for, so get that. they're great if you like your metal a little proggy with actual singing instead of screaming, but I like all kinds of vocals, singing is just a special treat seeing as so few modern metal bands sing anymore. the last 2 I bought before that one are Urd by Borknagar and Koloss by Meshuggah so check those out too.
maximum of those bands all sound like the others. in case you elect a distinctive voice with Metallicaesque guitar, heavily verify out Megadeth. The lead singer/guitarist for Megadeth grow to be Metallica's unique lead guitarist till they kicked him out. Metallica's first album grow to be completely written through him. Megadeth. attempt it. i'm too into classic rock and unique steel to love virtually something on ATB's checklist. They make me draw back maximum of em UCKY! save rockin the two way regardless of the shown fact that men.

Black Metal -Mayhem, Emperor and Satyricon Death Metal - Cannibal Corpse, Decapitated, Morbid Angel grindcore/Hardcore/NWOAHM - Carcass, Berzerker, The Black Metal Dahlia Murder, 3 Inches of Blood/Job for a Cowboy, Lamb of God. Pantera Punk - Amen, Black Flag, Social Distortion. These bands will start you off. they are the reason i love metal!
