I doubt you will get many answers to this as most have never heard of the genre. I used to listen to Opeth which is not exactly doom metal but it is close. Personally I love grunge metal, metalcore, and some thrash and death. Also dont mind Industrial Fave bands: Chimaira, Lamb Of God and DevilDriver. Have you seen Metal: A Headbanger's Journey? If not I recommend you get it as it is an AWESOME movie ALL about METAL.
Candlemass has an amazing singer, an opera-trained tenor singing metal. Of course one of my favorites although lyrically they were'nt really doom metal, but musically they were was Trouble, they put some amazing stuff out in the early 90's (s**t I'm dating myself here) I mean any band that can get Bill Ward himself to appear in a video has gotta be doing something right.
Novembers Doom is one of the best doom bands... Ok, so are Anathema, Katatonia, My Dying Bride etc. but my personal favourite is ND. I prefer black metal and sometimes even death metal, doom is too slow for me, though I like the way it makes you feel kind of depressed
yes i listen all kinda metal band. they all are great band and i do like doom metal these are some of my fav doom metal bands check em out Tiamat, Therepy , Cemetary, Anathema, Paradise Lost, Sentenced , Type O Negative...
Actually I like more Black Metal, especially from Scandinavia. Norway, Sweden and Finland
