i have compaq c550 and i need to buy a new charger but can only find c500 model ! would they be the same ?
There are two choices: (1) Order an original battery charger, where you can find the part number on your old one. (2) Get a replacement one which the current(AC/DC),Voltage and Amperage matches (plus or minus 5% is ok)the original AC adapter.
