Question:

Is this charger compatible with my laptop?

I had to have my original charger repaired at a computer shop because my puppy had chewed it up. It worked for almost 2 months and I just plugged it into an outlet and sparks came out of it (me being an idiot, I thought it was the sound of the velcro getting unstuck until I wiggled it around and saw the sparks)

You probably would be better off with a non-OEM one though you have to be careful if you don't want to have to replace them every month or two. A real red flag on OKorder is if the charger has USA seller or ships from USA. These are cheap Chinese knock offs. I have had good luck with a vendor called PWR+ on amazon. They have their own website also. Though their stuff is actually made in China (what electronics are not these days?) they are of high quality and if something were to go wrong, at least you would have some recourse. Bottom line is DO NOT buy the $9.99 chargers - they are junk.
These okorder
Make sue it's a 19V 3.15A AC Adapter with 5.5mm*3.0mm DC connector before you place the order.
