Question:

Are cycling trainer tires supposed to turn black?

I have a Continental trainer tire I put on my road bike (completely orange tire) and I only use the tire while I'm on the trainer (1up Trainer). I've noticed that the surface area where the tire runs on the trainer, that area is becoming black. I checked the ground clearance to make sure I wasn't rubbing into the trainer mat but I have ample clearance. Are trainer tire's supposed to take on a black shade in the contact area? If not, any resolutions?

Answer:

Those are all big violations! First, you don't know if he had washed his hands before handling the steaks. Second, if he had put poultry on the scale before there is a good chance of cross contamination. On top of that you don't know if there were any flies or other bugs on the scale before that. It is safe to cook it, but I would hesitate eating it. I would not hesitate to stop shopping there, nor would I hesitate to report him to the health department in your community.

Theres a fire hydrant in front of my house I'd say they flush it out once a year. They don't use hoses or anything to do so and the amount is not that much in comparison to pool sizes. 4 hydrants on the block, probably 15 households with pools. In the summer, the owner would have to constantly top off the pool with water due to evaporation loss. In my opinion. Waste of time for the fireman. Better to have the owners conserve and watch their water usage.
