Im some forums I see people refer to something on Honda Motorcycles called a chevron and insist that the arrow on it should be pointing up. What is a chevron and why must the arrow point up? What happens if it doesnt point up?
check your states driving laws online and if you can't find it ask you states DOT or most driving instructors or driving schools should know as well but it is supposed to be painted although i don't think it always is everywhere

It usually means that there's a fire hydrant off to the side of the road near it.
Most all states require that you park 15 feet away of a fire hydrant and 20 feet away from a fire station.
