They seem easy to install I was just wondering how good they really are
I have had them on 3 different mustangs but I only buy the off road x -pipes. I always use flowmaster cat back 2.5 inch american thunder exhaust. Its the best sounding exhaust thats why 90 percent of stangs have them. I agree with 1st poster. SS is better but you pay for them too. As long as you keep up with the prevention of rust on them you'll be ok. Just like headers the xpipes and mufflers need hi temp painting and or coating on them.
MAC exhausts are fairly good products, and MAC has been in the business for awhile, so they know what they are doing. Depending on your application, it will improve fuel economy somewhat and improve your performance as well. Most freer flowing aftermarket exhaust systems will do this, the real question is how long will they last? I don't seem to remember MAC offering fully stainless steel components, which is necessary for long life.most systems are of the aluminized nature, meaning they are plain steel with a light aluminum coating to prevent oxidation. However, this is a very thin layer and eventually will wear down and your system will start to rust. Stainless steel is obviously more expensive than aluminized, by at least a couple hundred dollars ,but SS will most likely last the life of your car.
You get what you pay for. They are more on the bottom end of exhaust systems. Bassini and Magnaflow are excellent exhaust systems and worth the money.
