Answer:

Cream cheese frosting
have a cold coca cola with the cookies. coke with lime twist is good
I wouldn't add another citrus fruit. I would make an icing drizzle with vanilla extract. Vanilla and lime go together!
I love ginger and coconut with lime! One thing you could do is make a fresh ginger frosting and top each cookie with some toasted flaked coconut. Depending on the amount of cookies you are making, A basic frosting for 2-3 dozen cookies; 2+ cups powdered sugar 1/3 cup softened butter 1 tsp. real vanilla extract 1/4+ cup room temp. whole milk or cream (add) 2 Tbs. very finely grated fresh ginger 2 cups toasted flaked coconut, cooled Beat butter until smooth. Add rest of ingredients except coconut, first on low speed, scraping sides of bowl, then up to medium high. Add extra sugar 2 Tbs. at a time, if too thin, or 2 tsp. milk if too thick. Beat for 2 min. Turn mixer on to low. Stir frosting for an extra min. to release air bubbles. Spread on cookies, and sprinkle coconut on top.
