are symptoms of a bent rear axle and a bad u joint the same?

I had my car checked by a mechanic becasue i had a wobble and a vibration in my car at certain speeds,they diagnois it as a bent rear axle ,so i get the axle and axle bearing replaced and it still does the same thing,so i was told it could be a bad u joint,are the symptoms of a bent axle somewhat the same as symptoms of a bad u joint

Liver, its gross but it has the best soruce. Spinach and broccoli do too.

FIRST OF ALL- a bent axle you would feel at all speeds not just at certain speeds. Now for the u joint, for one it wouldn't last long at all if you feeling a vibration and also you would hear a loud noise especially when taking off or putting it in drive to reverse.like a clunk. From the info you gave, i would have to say a bent drive shaft is the problem, this is the only piece that would react to certain speeds and cause the vibration your talking about. Check the u-joint by grabbing it and see if there is any play in it . ( which the mechanic should have done to start with) Hope this helps and please vote!
