I just started working as a tech (nurses assistant basically) in a hospital. The hospital only has vinyl exam gloves around the floor. I also work as an EMT and in a medical lab, both of which use nitrile gloves.I have read vinyl gloves are fine for low-risk uses. However, in the hospital, when cleaning someone or doing one of the other million tasks, it is very possible that blood is around.Is this appropriate to only offer workers the choice of vinyl gloves in a hospital when they have a rep of not being as protective?
