There is NOTING in the chemical make up of a cat's eye that would make it glow. The light you see in a cats eye is simply light being collected by the cat's retina and being reflected back to your retina. And the cat is trying to figure out why your eyes are glowing in the dark.

Get them reduced or wear safety goggles.
