I have a 2001 Gmc Sierra 1500 with a 5.3L SLE annnd I got in a wreck a few months back and the back left axle got bent about 3/8. It didnt break the housing or anything and Im absolutly positive its the axle. Ive never had to do this work before and have no idea how to figure out which axle I need and do i have to mess with the rear differential?
you would def. know, it would be a very very noticeable bump. Way worse than a speed bump
If the axle is bent ,Then its a good bet The housing is too If i were You i would re[lace the whole thing ,You can find them used , or rebuilt Otherwise you might find yourself spending more money and investing too much time Trying to fix the one thats damaged
