when i move shifter selector it isn‘t responding or engaging in any gear position. only thing it will do is grind when shifted back to P position.
Sounds like your front axle came disconnected from the trans housing or stripped. Often when your axle breaks or fails, you will not be able to change gears.
They may have messed up the linkage, but it sounds more like total transmission failure. Grinding in an automatic is never good.
Odds are the retaining clip on one of the axles was not properly seated into the trans axle and the axle has popped out of the axle gear. Do not repeat the grinding into park - it can destroy the parking mechanism inside the transmission ($$$$).
