i think my battery and/or charger needs replacement. i would like to know if all the batteries and chargers of compaq laptops are the same.?i went to the shop, he showed me a charger which resembled to my original charger. however the back side of the charger had less labels than the original onethe original charger also tells replace with hp spare -------- . and same is the case with the battery.so do these replacement serial numbers exist. i mean can i buy any compaq presario charger and battery and use with my laptop? or all are different and the serial numbers replacement which is printed are necessary?
Although it is nice to follow the suggested information located on the original, it doesn't mean it is the only one you can use once that one dies. As long as the specifications are the same, it is fine. Make sure the voltage, amperage, and connector tip match. You should also never forget to use the same brand. The family does not matter as much if the specifications are the same. If you can help it, get the charger that is built for your model.
