Question:

Battery charger problems?

I have a car battery charger and when I plug it in it does nothing. Doesn't turn on. What could be the issue? I've tried different outlets so it's something wrong with the charger

Answer:

the charger may have a fuse in it that is blown. if thats not it, i would get myself another charger
sometimes if the charger is not correctly hooked up or if it is set to a wrong setting it wont charge.
Chargers are usually pretty cheap. If it doesn't work, just purchase a new one.
If your battery is really discharged then it may take hours before the meter on the charger starts to move. Hook it up and check it with a voltmeter to see if it is working.
If the battery charger is old such as a Christie professional type it can take several minutes for the battery charger to wake up before you hear the cooling fan spin. This happens when they are not used often. Sort of like an old grinder that is not used. It takes awhile for them to wake up.
