I know the GSR transmissions are nice but i've heard from alot of people that the best transmission is from the Del Sol that came with a B16 in it. I Think like b16a2 or something like that. Does anyone have the engine code for the Del Sol with the B series in it?
Depends on what you want it for. Are you looking for best acceleration? Does fuel economy matter at all? Does noise matter at all? From least acceleration (longest gearing) to best acceleration (shortest gearing) it goes like this: LS/GS/RS (B18B1) GS-R/SiR-G (B18C1) Del Sol VTEC/'99-'00 Si/JDM SiR/JDM SiR II (B16A3/B16A2/B16A) Integra Type R/Civic Type R (B18C5/B16B) For fuel economy, and potential noise, it's the exact opposite. I'll explain what I mean by noise. When you're on the highway, say at 65mph in 5th gear, the RPMs are going to be different between each transmission. At that speed, and in that gear, with an LS transmission, the engine will be at fairly low RPMs. At that speed and in that gear, with the Type R transmissions, you're going to be at a fairly high RPM. So with the Type R transmission, you're going to have to deal with the constant droning noise of the engine revving. Some people can deal with this simply by turning up the stereo, but others are very annoyed by it. But basically, the GS-R transmission is about the middle of the road. It provides better acceleration over the LS transmission, while maintaining decent fuel economy. If you don't mind sacrificing some fuel economy for better acceleration, then the B16A transmissions would be a good change. I wouldn't however recommend the Type R transmissions, unless it's primarily a track car.
