I am simply wondering where the best place to take my car to get an exhaust system installed on it. would i go to a dealer? Somewhere else?
well i believe an exhuast system should already be installed on your car to begin with. if you are making after market changes to your car to make it sound loud and speedy, i would just leave it alone. plus they are loud and annoying to most and you may recieve a ticket by a cop if it is too loud. most states have a noise abatement rule for car exhuasts. if you need an exhaust system replaced the best work garunteed is always by the dealer however the most expensive
Your first answerer, caused me to write this. He must work for a dealer. You can have the exhaust replaced and worked on anywhere. Sears, Midas, and other independent exhaust shops can do it for you cheaper than any dealer can. Plus, in this economy, everyone will not turn away a potential sale. One thing that you cannot do, is get rid of your catalytic converter permanently. That is US EPA 100% illegal. Now as to sound, you can do anything you want. Yes, some communities have noise ordinances. I once had a vehicle where I also had a very loud exhaust. I did get a ticket. Took it to court. Won my case because, a Harley is so much louder than my truck ever was.
