Best way to iron my 100% polyester graduation gown?

I graduate in two weeks. I picked up my gown today, made of 100% polyester, and its badly wrinkled from the package. There are no care instructions. How do I iron out the wrinkles without damaging the poly? Doesn‘t it melt easily?

this is just the way it is designed. and on top of your master cylinder it should say use only dot ,3,4,5 etc. So just find the right dot rating
low beam one light, high beam two lights.

Carefully. Use a steam iron. Smooth the gown in place on your ironing board. Use a cotton pillowcase for press cloth, do not worry that you have a doubled piece of cotton fabric, place the pillowcase over it, iron Remove the press cloth and turn and smooth another section of the gown, place the cloth back on top. Iron. Etc. Don't need to be perfect, just take the big fold wrinkles out. Most likely there will be some graduates appearing with wrinkled gowns anyway. Avoid touching the polyester gown directly with the hot iron.
