I have an ‘05 530i 45k miles.are there any recommended oil additives that are good for the car? I know the dealer uses BG44 for the fuel system, but not sure what they use if any for oil treatment.
I remember when I was 15 hanging out at the auto parts store watching people buy the slick 50 kit for 100bucks. Even then I knew it was hopping hipe in a can. Just use synthetic oil and you don't have to use BMWs oil its nothing special.
Good quality oils have all the additives they need to do the job they were designed for.
Just use the BMW synthetic oil sold at the dealer. That oil is made in Germany by Castrol for BMW. It is not the same as the Castrol Syntec sold in the US. Mobil 1 is a good alternative if you don't want to go to the dealer. No additives or oil treatment is needed or recommended.
