The rear wheel on my BMX bike cracked, so i have to get a new one. Should I get mag wheels or spoke wheels? The bike is a Haro Mirra 540 Air.
All I can say is don't buy the same wheel you had,because it broke. Buy a stronger one.
The mag wheels are not as strong as a spoked wheel except for the lower end spoked wheels
Mag wheels are heavy and week and they look ridiculous. Nuff said. Spokes are really varied though, you can get some really good wheels that are double wall. This means they have 2 layers inside the rim so they're stronger. Single wall are pretty rubbish and tripple are over the top. It also depends on how well the wheel is laced (put together). When you buy a new wheel you usually need to tighten the spokes up after the first few rides I suggest you read into this. I also recomend Odyssey Hazard Lite wheels
