Question:

Braces bracket on gums?

Hello people!Today while cleaning my braces I noticed my bracket may be on my gum! It's a bit loose but stuck on there! I only have top braces but what is this?! I got braces on Thursday and the bracket is the 5th tooth from the first! i checked the other one and it isn't like that! Is it because the tooth is small? Is it cause I am getting the tooth in front extracted? Help! There is no pain by the way!God Bless!

Answer:

From your description, it sounds like you broke off the bracket on the second bicuspid. Brackets can't be loose, only broken. Bicuspids are the teeth in front of the molars, the teeth with the bands. Normally, you would use these teeth for chewing too, but not with braces. You need to chew farther back to prevent breaking bicuspid brackets. If it makes you feel any better, it is a common orthodontic issue when patients first start out with the braces since it takes some time to adapt changing how you eat. Call the office and get it checked. It sounds like you need an appointment for a repair.
pass on your orthodontist or maybe an oral well-being practitioner as quickly as achieveable. it would desire to not be drastic now, yet once you leave your bracket that way, it has ability to reason an infection. Get it fastened as quickly as achieveable!
