Question:

Broken ball bearings? (98 civic ex)?

I was driving my 98 civic ex automatic around a corner, hit an icy patch and slid up on to the curb. (impact was on the passenger front tire) After the curb incident my left front end bounced up and down and when I would speed up the wheel started to shake back and forth.I drove home slowly and parked it and I am unsure wheat to do. The tire is not flat and it looks like two of the 4-lugs are sticking out further than the other two(?)...Does this sound like a case of broken ball bearings??If so, are they expensive/hard to fix??And, how long will this take at a shop??

Answer:

i think you meant a rod or something, ask a mechanic for the price, like 2 days to a week
what is bearings?
Bent wheel, out of alignment, bent A arm, bent tie rod end... could all be possible, take it to a shop.
um there are no ball bearings ......sounds like u might have broke ur ball joint....but no way to tell without looking at the car..... if 2 of the studs are sticking out further u might have broken them or even bent the rim...... could b tire bubble could b unbalanced now could b alignment go knocked out of whack......tons of other things .... u most likely need to have some one look at it....... and not the idiot that told u ball bearings and probably not any one that they suggest.....good luck
