how could i find out how long it will take to heat water in copper pipe from 5 degrees C to 60 degrees C as it runs through a boiler? i have all the numbers on it, i just don't know how to use them,i am mathematically minded so i was hoping to have it explained in maths terms if possible. cheers.
the basic formulas for heat exchange is Q= mCp* delta T Q= UA * LMTD LMTD= (T2-T1) / ln(T2/T1) your Q is too general and doesn't give any values for heat exchange surface, velocity, heat transfer coeff etc.
