Can a 1992 convertible Mazda Miata plastic window be replaced with a later model glass one?
I need to replace my 1993 Mazda Miata soft top with plastic rear window to a soft top with a glass window. If a soft top with a glass window is installed, how would the top fold down considering there is glass window or will you ever be able to fold the soft top? A plastic window can easily easily but I don't see how it would. Thanks.
If you want a glass window in a Miata, it can be done. The thing is that a new top that is fitted with one is only a few dollars more then a complete top and fitting one into a top with a plastic window will require work most of us can not do or requiring us to pay some one else to do it. It is possible to put a new top on yourself (I have done it a few times myself) with out the purchase of many tools. So just replace the complete top and maybe look for one with a defroster built in the rear window. The defroster will require some wiring to be done but it is a nice addition.
