Question:

Can a person make a claim against my insurance company for an accident that never happened? No police report!!

My son was driving my vehicle while out on a date with a young lady he'd met. He says that the woman got extremely intoxicated, started acting crazy, and jumped from truck while it was moving down the road at about 15mph. About a year and a half later, the woman is making a claim against my insurance company claiming that my son ran into a fire hydrant and now she has a neck injury. Of course the woman never made a police report because the police would have wanted to see the truck, and therefore would have seen that there wasn't any damage; but her claim is that she didn't make the report because she was scared. This all happened in MN and my question is what can they do? Will my insurance pay this bogus claim? I am a little nervous because she has some attorney who has taken up her case.

Answer:

Somebody needs to stay indoors during thunderstorms!
Yes it is possible. Smoke alarms work with a laser that reflects off a mirror back to a sensor. When anything disturbs that path, ( smoke, steam etc..) the alarm is triggered. Some are more sensitive than others it seems. Try it out before your event if possible.
I think you suggested the correct answers, in asking the question. The people in history had less technology to work with, but were very innovative.
