If you were to break the machined area that retains the C-clip in a 12-bolt or 10-bolt Chevy or a 7.5 -8.8 inch Fordthe axle is coming out. Or, if the wheel bearing goes bad, it can crystallize the axle from the heat producedresult, the axle snaps off.
