Question:

Can any battery charger charge all types of rechargeable batteries?

I have a battery charger at home and looking for a rechargeable battery to replace my depleted ones. However, I can't find a battery of the same brand of my previous one (the battery and the charger were the same brand). So here are my questions:1. Can any battery charger charge batteries of different brands?2. Can any battery charger charge batteries of different mAH?3. Can any battery charger charge batteries of different types? (NiMH, Li-Ion)Thanks!

Answer:

challenging step. seek over google or bing. it will help!
No, most chargers are designed to charge a specific type of battery. Attempting to charge the wrong type of battery in the charger can result in an explosion or fire. At the very least, the charger will burn up. Read the tiny print on your charger, it should say the type of batteries you can charge. If a battery type is not listed, don't attempt to charge it. There are 4 types of batteries, Lead Acid batteries, such as in your car. It takes a specific type of charger made for those type batteries. Nickle Cadmium (NiCad), Nickle Metal Hydride (NicMH), and Lithium Ion (LI) Each have different charging requirements. Some chargers are made to just handle one or two types, a few chargers are designed to handle all 3 types.
