Question:

Can I build muscle with just a bench press?

Hi I wanna start working out because I wanna build my self image the problem is im a little nervous and shy about going to the gym because Im built like a twig so I was thinking about investing my money in a bench press would it be possible to build muscle with just a bench press??

Answer:

Yes you can build muscle with just a bench press but I would not recommend only doing the bench press. If you are planning on doing bench press make sure you moderate on days so you can relax your muscles, and new tissue can be built. Try to keep bench press to 2 - 3 days a week max. I highly recommend doing push-ups and sit-ups. They build your body, and even if you can't do many just start out slow. Then add more push-ups and sit-ups to your routine. If your nervous about going to the gym you could also just do the push-ups and sit-ups at your house.
Yes and No. You can build your chest, triceps, shoulders with bench press. But you can not build biceps and forearms. Then I suggest you to buy an adjustable bench and 2 dumbbells (don't buy fixed one). You can do full body workouts with them.
